Most broadband contracts are credit agreements, so the provider searches your file before you can get online. Renting a router is not. No credit search, no contract, no deposit. A postcode and a payment card is all we need.
Rent from £49 →A missed payment or a CCJ should not stop you getting online. We do not search your credit file at all.
No UK credit history yet? Some providers will turn you down or ask for a deposit. We need neither.
Every hard search counts when a lender or letting agent is looking. Renting a router leaves no footprint.
No credit agreement means no direct debit to cancel and no early-termination fees later.
A 12 or 24-month broadband contract is a credit agreement: the provider is trusting you to pay every month for years, often after giving you equipment for free. So they search your credit file first. A rental is different. You pay upfront for the time you want, and your saved card covers extra weeks or a router that is not returned, as set out in our rental terms. There is no credit to assess, so there is no search.
| Option | Credit check | Deposit | Contract |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airgen Go router hire | None | None | None |
| Standard broadband contract | Yes, hard search | Sometimes, with poor credit | 12 to 24 months |
| Network 5G home broadband | Usually | Sometimes | Rolling or 12 to 24 months |
| Typical WiFi hire firm | Sometimes | £30 to £50 held | Minimum hire term |
The honest bit. If you need home internet for a year or more and can pass a credit check, a fixed-line contract or a network 5G plan will usually cost less per month than renting. We are the better choice when you need internet quickly, for a few weeks or months, without a credit search or a contract.
Need it for longer? Extend before your return date for £25 a week. No new order, no new contract.
Every order is coverage-checked. We look up your postcode across the UK mobile networks and send the SIM with the strongest predicted signal. If the connection disappoints, tell us within 48 hours of delivery and post it back for a full refund.
Yes. Airgen Go does not run a credit check of any kind, so your credit history does not affect whether you can rent. You pay for the plan upfront, from £49 for one week, and extend for £25 a week if you need longer.
No. We do not run a credit search of any kind, so no search appears on your credit file.
Yes. All we need is a UK delivery address and a payment card. There is no credit search, no proof of credit history and no deposit.
No. Many firms ask for a deposit when they cannot credit check you. We do not hold any deposit or pre-authorisation. See no deposit WiFi hire for how that works.
Just the plan price: £49 for one week, £69 for two weeks, £110 for four weeks or £249 for three months prepaid, with unlimited data, the router, tracked delivery and a free return using the QR code on the card in the box. Extend before your return date for £25 a week.
Over a long period, renting costs more per month than a broadband contract. It is the right choice when a credit check is a problem or you only need internet for weeks or months. Your saved card can be charged for extra weeks if you return late, or for a router that is not returned, as our terms explain.
Order by 3pm on a working day for next-working-day delivery. No contract, no credit check, no deposit.
